Safety Tips
Children should be accompanied by an adult or responsible teenager. They should also wear bright costumes or add reflective tape to their costumes and bags. Children should carry a flashlight or glowstick and avoid masks that obstruct vision.
Treat inspection
Before children eat their treats, inspect them for tampering.
Cross the street safely
Children should look both ways before crossing the street and stay on sidewalks whenever possible.
Trick-or-treating hours
Trick-or-treating hours are typically between 5 and 8 PM on Halloween night.
Turn off porch lights
If you run out of candy or are “closed” to trick-or-treaters after a certain time of night, you can turn your porch light off.
